d100 Tables (d100tables.com) is a community library of random tables for tabletop games. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what we need to run your account and the site, we don't sell your information, and you can ask us to delete it.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address, your username, and your password, which is stored only in a scrambled form we can't read. We also note whether you've confirmed your email and when you last visited, to keep your account secure and send the right emails.
- What you make: your tables, entries and suggestions, and whether each table is shared with the community or kept just for your game. Shared tables, your username and your author page are public.
- Reports you send: reports about a table, and bug reports, which include the page you came from and your browser and screen size so we can see the problem.
- How you found us: on your first visit, a small cookie notes the page you arrived on and the site that sent you, like a search engine or a link with a campaign tag. If you sign up within 90 days, we keep that with your account, along with your answer to “How did you hear about us?” if you give one.
- How the site is used: we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular (it uses cookies; Google offers a browser add-on to opt out). A product analytics service helps us understand how features get used, including recordings of browsing sessions: everything you type is hidden in them, and on signed-in pages all text is hidden too, so a recording never shows your email, your private tables, or what you write. Our hosting provider and a traffic measurement service also count page views, without cookies, and an error monitoring service receives technical details when something breaks, sometimes linked to that session's recording.
Suggestions
When you use Suggest entries, we send your table's name, description and existing entries to OpenAI, which writes the suggestions. We don't send your email or username. We keep a record of each request (when it happened and what it cost) to apply the monthly allowance.
We email you about your account (confirming your address, resetting your password), send a few tips when you're new or if you've been away a while, and let you know when something you reported is fixed. Every tips email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can turn tips off on your account page. Account emails continue while you have an account. Email is sent through an email delivery service.
Cookies and browser storage
- Sign-in cookies keep you logged in.
- An age cookie remembers that you confirmed you're 18 or older, so adult tables don't ask every time.
- The first-visit cookie described above, kept for 90 days.
- Google Analytics cookies.
- Your browser's local storage holds a draft of the table you're creating, and the product analytics identifier.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the services that run the site for us (hosting and database, email delivery, analytics, error monitoring, the issue tracker where bug reports go, and OpenAI when you ask for suggestions), each only for that job. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Keeping and deleting it
We keep your account and tables for as long as you have an account. To delete your account, contact us (below) from the email address on it, and we'll delete your account, your email address and the tables you made. Entries you added to someone else's collaborative table may stay on their table, no longer linked to you. Records we need for our own accounting, like what suggestions cost, are kept without your email.
Children
d100 Tables isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. Tables marked 18+ stay hidden until a visitor confirms they're 18 or older.
Your choices and rights
You can change your username on your account page, turn off tips emails, and ask us for a copy of your information or to delete it. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), you may have other rights, such as correcting your information or limiting how we use it. Contact us and we'll help.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll also tell you by email or on the site.
